DCAF and DCA work with approved rescue organizations across the US to help Dalmatians in need of a new home. The map below identifies the currently approved organizations.
If you are in need of help in re-homing your Dalmatian, please work with one of these organizations who specialize in the successful placement of the breed.
To help increase the likelihood of successful rescue placement and to ensure that the placement is in the best interest of the public, the dog and the breed, DCA and DCAF offer the following guidelines to its membership and to approved Dalmatian Rescue Organizations.
If you are a rescue organization new to DCAF, please complete the DCARE Rescue Organization Application Form below.
Approved Organizations may apply for reimbursement for up to $500 per hearing Dalmatian you rescue, with a limit of $2500 in a calendar year. Organizations may submit for more expenses, but those require board approval and are not guaranteed. The application must be made within 90 days of the incurred expense. We also have a list of expenses we would and would not cover. DCAF will not cover expenses for bilaterally deaf dogs.
For reimbursement, please complete the DCARE Reimbursement Form and follow the submission instructions in the document.
Reimbursable expenses provided via DCARE include fees associated with pulling the dog from the rescue/shelter (not for dogs purchased in auctions), spay/neuter, diagnostic testing, dental work needed, prescriptions, heartworm/flea medications, surgery, vaccinations, euthanasia, holistic medicine (including acupuncture and hydrotherapy) and behavioral health evaluation (but not ongoing behavioral health therapy).
