To Do Checklist for Breeders:

After the litter is whelped:
- DCA Members - Update your DCA breeder upcoming litter ad for the DCA website
- Apply for your AKC litter number
- Microchip your puppies and register the microchips with AKC Reunite
- Prepare your contracts
- Request DCAF brochures for the puppy packs.
- If you are a Purina Pro Club Member, request puppy packs
- Set up your hearing test and DNA blood draw
- Identify each puppy with their AKC number
- Download & fill out the OFA congenital deafness forms. DCA Members should mark the form with “DCAF will pay for the full litter registration”. Sign the form to release the results publicly in the database.
- Download and fill out the forms for DNA blood draw. DCA Members should mark the form with "DCAF will pay for the full litter registration".
- DCA Members - Nominate your individual puppies for Futurity before they are 4 months old.
- All OFA forms and samples can be sent in the same box.
- While you are filling out the DNA health forms for the litter, do an update of the health history on the Dam of the litter and any other Dalmatians in the house.
DCAF Supports DCA Members:
- Full Litter BAER Test OFA Submission– Here’s how! DCAF pays the OFA Submission fees for entire litter BAER hearing results submitted by DCA Members. Simply write in the payment info area of the application: “Full Litter BAER submission – Fees covered by DCAF”. Full printout and application must be signed by the authorized testing facility, and you must sign the application for public release of the results in the OFA database.
BAER Testing sites in the US. - DNA Submission of a Litter: DNA Submission of a Litter: DCAF covers Submission fees and shipping cost for DCA Members. Shipping cost is only available for US based breeders.
